About Taylor Smith
Taylor Smith graduated from Vermont Law and Graduate School, where he distinguished himself through a combination of academic excellence, courtroom advocacy, and practical legal experience. With a foundation in environmental law, litigation support, and regulatory compliance, Taylor brings a sharp, client-focused approach to every matter he handles.
During his time at Vermont Law, Taylor served as an Editor for Vermont Law Review and was a member of the school’s National Environmental Moot Court Competition Team. His advocacy skills earned him the “Best Oralist” award during the school’s Advanced Appellate Advocacy Moot Court competition. Taylor also contributed to the development of future advocates by serving as a Teaching Assistant in Appellate Advocacy, mentoring students in legal writing and oral argument techniques.
Taylor’s legal experience is both broad and deep. As a Student Attorney in the Environmental Advocacy Clinic, he developed legal strategies for nonprofit clients, drafted federal agency comment submissions, and coordinated outreach between community stakeholders and advocacy groups. Taylor continued his work at Searcy Denney Barnhart Scarola & Shipley, P.A., where he assisted in complex personal injury and product liability litigation—conducting research, drafting pleadings, and analyzing expert testimony on causation.
Prior to his legal career, Taylor earned a degree in Hospitality Management from East Carolina University and held a leadership role as Operations Manager for Marriott. His background in team management and customer service continues to inform his people-first approach to legal practice.
When Taylor is not working, he’s either spending his time in Boulder with his two nieces, running outdoors, or attending concerts at Red Rocks.
