Andrew Scarponi

Andrew is a labor lawyer with a passion for helping workers get paid what they’ve earned.  He litigates failures to pay the minimum wage, overtime, sick leave and commissions; employers’ theft of employee tips; denials of rest and lunch breaks; misclassification of employees as independent contractors; and other workplace misconduct.

Prior to joining The Wilhite Law Firm, Andrew was a judicial law clerk for a United States Magistrate Judge in the District of Colorado.  Before that, he worked as a Compliance Investigator for the Department of Labor and Employment, specializing in cases of employee misclassification.

Andrew graduated with honors from the University of Colorado Law School, where he competed on the school’s moot court team, winning Best Brief at the ABA National Appellate Advocacy regional competition.  He also coached a team of high school students to the national finals of the Marshall–Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project’s moot court competition.  While a law student, Andrew interned for several Justices of the Colorado Supreme Court.

Andrew earned a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Wittenberg University, winning a Fulbright grant to study negotiation techniques in China’s open-air markets.  He later earned a Master’s  Degree in Economics from New York University before deciding to become a lawyer.
