About Rydge Rath

Rydge Rath is a member of the Wage & Hour Employment team at The Wilhite Law Firm. His practice is primarily focused on representing employees who are owed wages from their current or former employers. Rydge truly enjoys representing working class Coloradoans and fighting to defend worker’s rights.

Rydge grew up in neighboring Wyoming and spent much of his childhood driving down to Colorado to enjoy everything our great state has to offer. He eventually moved to Florida where he finished high school and attended College at Florida State University, earning his bachelor’s degree as a double major in Political Science and Economics. Missing the mountains and wanting to move back out west, Rydge chose to attend the University of Colorado’s Law School where he received his Juris Doctorate. During his time in law school, Rydge was a member of several student law clinics, working on projects to improve Colorado’s air quality by petitioning the EPA to establish more stringent standards for common pollutants that contribute to much of the smog along Colorado’s front range, and assisting a group of mobile home tenants in purchasing their mobile home park to allow them to avoid evictions under Colorado’s then-newly passed laws for mobile home park tenants. Rydge was also an active member of the Council for Racial Justice and Equity, a student-led coalition dedicated to advocating for the rights of CU Law Students and successfully lobbied CU Law’s Faculty into changing the rules restricting student externships to help make access to valuable externship experiences more equitable for low-income law students.

Rydge’s passion for serving workers has been heavily influenced by his and his families own struggles as working-class employees. Rydge’s grandfather spent several decades working in coal mines throughout Wyoming, and his father spent two decades working for the railroad throughout the mountain states. Working on construction sites to pay his way through college, Rydge was subjected firsthand to the daily realities of wage theft and workplace injuries that plague our working-class industries. Those experiences motivated him to want to spend his legal career representing employees and protecting their rights in the workplace. Rydge’s diverse background prior to joining the legal field gives him the perspective and appreciation to relate to his clients and to prioritize their needs in every case.

During his free time, Rydge is an avid sports fan, spending many weekends supporting Florida State and the University of Colorado’s athletics programs. Rydge enjoys Denver’s proximity to the treasures of the Rocky Mountains, and access to major professional and college sports teams.
